MLK Day of Service Coordinator (Jacksonville)
United Way of Northeast Florida is hiring a temporary position of MLK Day of Service Coordinator. The salary range is $25 per hour.
Responsibilities:
• Support partner agencies in planning and executing meaningful volunteer projects
• Recruit, communicate with, and lead volunteers before and during the event
• Conduct site visits, deliver supplies, and troubleshoot logistical and interpersonal issues with partner agencies and volunteers
• Oversee on-site operations, check-in, and volunteer engagement during the event
• Assist with set-up, breakdown, and post-event communication and reporting
Education/Experience:
• Applicant should possess a motivation to help people, a non-judgmental attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to empathize
• High School diploma/GED, Associate’s degree or higher preferred
• 1–2 years of experience in event coordination, volunteer management, or related fields
• Ability to work effectively under stress and time constraints and maintain productivity and composure under pressure
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
