Crisis Response Specialist (Chicago)

BUILD is hiring a crisis response specialist. The duties of the specialist is to, “act as a first responder to provide immediate support to youth and their families after a shooting or other act of violence, including emotional support, initial advocacy, and support in navigating the criminal justice system, including police departments, legal services and the courts. Services take place within targeted communities and area hospitals as needed.”

The ideal candidate will be someone who is/has:

• speaks both English/Spanish

• two years of experience working with inner-city youth in a human service setting, trauma-informed care, social service setting, or related field

• demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
