Family Support Advocate (Orange County, CA)

Orange County (California) United Way is hiring a Family Support Advocate.

Job responsibilities include:

• Providing family advocacy by linking families to internal and external community agencies for appropriate resources.
• Providing family case management to ensure family’s linkage and referral to services.
• Assisting individuals with the completion of registration paperwork.
• Ensuring all documentation and assessments are completed and entered into corresponding databases (i.e., VistaShare) within designated time limits.
• Performing home visits, when necessary, with social workers and as allowed by direct supervisor.
• Presenting cases in weekly Case Management Team (CMT) meetings.

An ideal candidate will have/be:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in behavioral science, social work, related field, or commensurate work experience required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Two years of experience in case management with at risk children and families.
• One year of knowledge in the child welfare system preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of community resources and familiarity to utilize resource linkages in Orange County.
