Mobile Mental Health Crisis Specialist (Chicago)
BUILD Chicago is hiring a Mobile Mental Health Crisis Specialist. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities for this position include:
• Connect violence-exposed youth and their families with comprehensive services that promote healing, foster life-skills, and prevent high-risk/consequence behaviors that make them vulnerable to violence and other negative outcomes.
• Advocates for victims of crime and their immediate families in problem situations which can vary from case to case.
• Organize community pop-ups in areas where violence has impacted individuals in the community and hand out information about the services that we offer to the community.
• Maintain relationships with various partners, including schools, government agencies, community-based organizations, and internal BUILD program partners.
• Coordinate outreach events, integrate with BUILD events, and develop events related to mental health and wellness.
An ideal candidate will have a/an:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited college or University
• 1-2 years’ experience working with inner-city youth/families impacted by community violence or the criminal justice system
