Columbia Psychiatry Continuing Education Program is offering a one hour online training titled Trauma, Intimate Partner Violence, and Mental Health on Thursday at 11:00 am EST. This training will be led by Elizabeth Fitelson, MD.

Learning objectives include:

• Describe the DSM diagnostic criteria for PTSD and critically evaluate the strengths and limitations of this framework when assessing patients with complex trauma presentations.

• Recognize the clinical presentation and mental health sequelae of intimate partner violence and apply a trauma-informed framework when evaluating affected patients.

• Formulate a trauma-responsive treatment plan that integrates evidence-based psychotherapy with appropriate recommendations for psychopharmacology, guided by the patient's individual circumstances and priorities.

Continuing education hours are available for social workers for a fee.
